What KYC actually checks, and why it protects you

"Know Your Customer" often gets framed as a regulatory box-tick — something companies do because they have to, not because it helps anyone. That framing misses what KYC is actually for. Done well, it's one of the strongest protections you have against someone else moving money using your identity.

What we actually verify

Why this protects you specifically

Identity verification is what makes it meaningfully harder for someone to open an account using your stolen documents, or to launder money through a platform that would otherwise let anyone move funds anonymously. It's also what allows us to help you recover an account if something goes wrong — without strong identity verification at signup, account recovery becomes a much weaker, more exploitable process.

Why verification levels increase with limits

Most customers can send meaningful amounts after a quick verification. Higher limits require additional verification specifically because higher-value transactions carry higher fraud and money-laundering risk industry-wide — this isn't unique to NESVRA, it's how every regulated financial platform is required to operate. We try to make each additional step as fast as possible, but we won't skip it, because the alternative is a platform that's easier for bad actors to abuse and less safe for everyone else.
